Arrested suspect admits to theft and seeks to disclose the crime
Man Arrested for Unpaid Theft Fine and Multiple Warrants
A 24-year-old Moroccan man was arrested by the Federal Police in Weil am Rhein on September 11, 2025, following an existing arrest warrant against him. The arrest was a result of the man's failure to comply with a theft conviction sentence from last year, for which he was fined 200 euros.
The arrest warrant was issued two weeks prior to the incident, due to the man's failure to pay the fine or serve the substitute imprisonment. The man was initially apprehended at the main railway station in Freiburg im Breisgau on September 2nd, 2025, after a complaint was filed about a stolen backpack. However, as he was unable to pay the fine or post bail on the spot, he was taken to a detention facility.
The Federal Police Inspectorate Weil am Rhein, which provided the information to news aktuell, can be contacted at Friedrich Blaschke. His contact information includes a phone number (+49 7628 8059 1011), email ([email protected]), and a website (www.polizei.bund.de). The inspectorate also maintains a Twitter account at https://twitter.com/bpol_bw.
The man's criminal record includes multiple theft-related convictions and nine residency investigations, including for theft, benefit fraud, and illegal entry. As a result, he faces a remaining prison sentence of 11 months and two weeks. The public prosecutor's office had issued a warrant for his arrest due to his failure to comply with the sentence.
The man's repeated unauthorized entry into Germany has led to a new criminal case being opened against him. The Federal Police will continue to work diligently to ensure that individuals who commit crimes and fail to comply with the law are brought to justice.
