Arsenal Claims Victory Over Leeds United, Maintaining Perfect Premier League Record

Arsenal continued their impressive form in the Premier League with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Leeds United, extending their unbeaten run to two games. The match was not without its injuries and drama, as key players Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard picked up knocks eight days before Arsenal's trip to Liverpool.

The Gunners' new signing, Viktor Gyokeres, made his mark in the match, scoring a goal from a Riccardo Calafiori's ball over the top. Gyokeres, who joined Arsenal as a solution to their need for a killer number nine, showcased his skills with a fine individual run and finish.

Mikel Arteta handed a Premier League debut to 15-year-old Max Dowman, making him the second youngest player to play in the English top-flight after Ethan Nwaneri. Dowman's trickery won a penalty deep into stoppage time, which Gyokeres gratefully dispatched to secure the victory.

Jurrien Timber, the Dutch international, scored the opening goal for Arsenal, his second goal in 52 Arsenal appearances. Timber doubled their lead over Leeds at the 34th minute from a Declan Rice corner, before adding their fourth goal when Leeds failed to clear another Rice corner and Timber forced the ball over the line from close range.

Eberechi Eze, a new £60 million signing for Arsenal, was paraded before the match, having turned down a move to Tottenham. However, Saka's injury cast a shadow over the game, as he was holding the back of his left leg when he was replaced during the match.

Arsenal's season began with a 1-0 win against Manchester United on the opening weekend of the season, a result they managed to grind out thanks to their threat from set-pieces. With this latest victory, Arsenal remains at the top of the Premier League table, with a 100% record from their opening two games.
