Camper Van Fire in Pohnsdorf, Lübeck: No Casualties, Investigation Underway
A camper van caught fire in Pohnsdorf, Lübeck, on February 23, 2025, leaving the vehicle completely destroyed. The incident occurred at around 05:20 on Schmiedekamp Street.
The fire spread to an adjacent single-family home, but the quick response of several volunteer fire departments and two patrol cars from the local Bad Schwartau police station prevented the blaze from spreading further. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in the incident.
The exact damage to the single-family home is not specified, and the extent of property damage to the home due to the fire remains unknown. The camper van was fully ablaze when the first firefighters arrived, and the fire was extinguished shortly after.
The Criminal Police in Bad Schwartau have initiated an investigation into the exact cause of the fire. The police officer leading the investigation has not been publicly named. The Criminal Police have also secured the scene of the fire.
