Art event at Resurrection Church Arnsberg: 17 bags convey narratives starting from August 15

In the heart of Arnsberg, the Auferstehungskirche church space has been transformed into a vibrant hub of exchange and communication during the Cultural Summer 2025. From August 15 to August 24, visitors can immerse themselves in a pocket exhibition featuring 17 unique objects, including bags transformed into storytelling artworks.

This extraordinary exhibition, titled 'Life's Stories', has accompanied the lives of ten local artists in a distinctive and memorable way. The bags speak of bygone professions, amorous encounters, courage to talk about death, lifesavers, or emergency bags, and bear witness to a life well-lived.

The artists involved in this captivating display are Norbert Baumeister, Christel and Siegfried Deventer, Hans Michael Fraikin, Inge Maag-Cordes, Arno Mester, Ulrike Naroska-Krause, Katharina Reinartz-Nebe, Hartmut Richard Schröger, and Heike Wiegand-Baumeister.

Katharina Reinartz-Nebe, a resident of Neheim, initiated the exhibition project. Her innovative idea to reopen the Auferstehungskirche space for artworks was the inspiration behind the Cultural Office of Arnsberg's decision to host the exhibition.

The exhibition offers insights into the lives and work of these ten Arnsberg artists, including Katharina Reinartz-Nebe. Visitors can engage in conversation with the artists about their work during the exhibition.

The bags hang from the ceiling, telling stories of life that are as diverse as the artists themselves. The exhibition provides intriguing insights into the bag dreams and associations of each artist.
