Art Showcase at Resurrection Church Arnsberg: Seventeen Bags Narrate Tales Starting from August 15th

The Auferstehungskirche church in Arnsberg will be hosting a unique pocket exhibition as part of the Cultural Summer 2025. This down-to-earth experimental space, while not explicitly linked to a specific artist in the provided search results, shares a connection with Anselm Kiefer's idea to restore and use his childhood home in Rastatt as an exhibition space.

The exhibition, titled "Bags Telling Tales of Life," opens its doors to visitors on August 15th at 3:00 PM. Running until August 24th, the event offers a multifaceted encounter with everyday companions - bags.

For the duration of the exhibition, 17 objects, including bags transformed into artworks by 10 Arnsberg artists, will hang from the ceiling, speaking of bygone professions, whispering about romantic rendezvous, sharing stories of overcoming death, serving as lifesavers or emergency kits, and bearing witness to the fullness of life.

The artists contributing to this exhibition include Norbert Baumeister, Christel and Siegfried Deventer, Hans Michael Fraikin, Inge Maag-Cordes, Arno Mester, Ulrike Naroska-Krause, Katharina Reinartz-Nebe, Hartmut Richard Schröder, and Heike Wiegand-Baumeister. Among them, Katharina Reinartz-Nebe, a Neheimer artist, proposed the idea for the exhibition project.

Visitors to the exhibition will have the opportunity to engage in conversation with the artists about their work. The church space is open for visitors from 3:00 to 5:00 PM, excluding Monday, August 18th.

The Auferstehungskirche church space was inspired by Katharina Reinartz-Nebe to be used for artworks and transformed into a space for exchange and communication. This pocket exhibition in the Auferstehungskirche is a must-visit for art enthusiasts and anyone interested in exploring the stories hidden within everyday objects.
