Artist Transforms into a Jewish Painter Post-October 7, 2023
On Monday, 6th October 2025, at 19:00, doors will open for an exciting event at Friedrichstr. 10969 Berlin. The event, moderated by Jan Feddersen, will offer a unique opportunity to delve into the experiences, views of the world, and the impact of fear on the work of renowned painter Yury Kharchenko.
Kharchenko, who has lived and worked in Berlin for 16 years, is known for his thought-provoking works that often address his Jewish history and demonizations of the Jewish. His works are part of prestigious collections such as the Museum Kunstpalast Düsseldorf, Kunstmuseum Walter, Sammlung Wemhöner (Herford/Berlin), Kunsthaus NRW Aachen, NS Documentation Center Cologne, and the Felix-Nussbaum-House in Osnabrück.
For this event, Kharchenko will be curating an exhibition titled "Bad Good Jews" alongside curator Aljoscha Samjatin. The exhibition will take place in a poignant location - the former Nazi bunker in Berlin (Bunker West, Hohenzollerndamm 120) - from November 13 to 28, 2025.
Audience questions and comments are welcome during the event, both in the livestream and at the event location. You can also submit your questions for the event in advance or give feedback after the conversation via email to ourwebsitetalk@ourwebsite.
Admission to the event is free but requires a reservation. You can reserve your spot using Event-Ticketing-Software by pretix. This event promises to be a thought-provoking look into the future, as Yury Kharchenko prepares to curate an exhibition that promises to challenge and engage. Don't miss out on this unique opportunity!
