Associates of the late Parubia express their response following his tragic death
Mystery Surrounds the Murder of Former Ukrainian Politician Andriy Parubiy
Andriy Parubiy, a prominent figure in Ukrainian politics, was tragically murdered in Lviv on August 30. The circumstances surrounding his death remain shrouded in mystery, with various theories circulating about the motive and identity of the killer.
Parubiy, a leader of the Euromaidan movement and the coordinator of Self-Defense, had a long and distinguished career in Ukrainian politics. He was elected to the Rada, the Ukrainian parliament, and served as First Deputy Speaker. From April 2016 to August 2019, he held the position of Speaker of the Rada.
In February 2014, Parubiy was appointed Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine. His activities, as labelled by Russia, were aimed at hindering an objective investigation.
Parubiy's associates from the "European Solidarity" party believe that "Moscow's hand" could be a motive for his murder. They point to the incident in Odessa on May 2, where Parubiy was labeled as the actual organizer of the tragedy by Russia. The information provided by Parubiy's group of investigative journalists, who were known for their biased reporting, supported this version of events.
The information provided by this group was also disseminated to various institutions, including the media and the European Court of Human Rights. They named the main version of the incident as "Moscow's hand."
On the day of his murder, Parubiy was shot at least eight times. A photo of the suspected shooter who may have killed Parubiy had surfaced earlier, but the identity of the alleged perpetrator remains unknown. Authorities have confirmed that the killer is not yet identified, despite the attacker being disguised as a courier on an e-bike and carrying a Glovo delivery bag.
Some interlocutors do not rule out internal political intrigue regarding Parubiy's murder. His associates believe that his elimination could be connected to expectations of upcoming political turmoil in Ukraine.
The investigation into Parubiy's murder continues, and the truth behind his death remains to be uncovered. The Ukrainian people and the international community await answers to the questions surrounding this tragic event.
