The German basketball team continued their impressive form in the European Championship, securing a record-breaking victory against the Britons in Tampere, Finland.

The game, which resembled more of a training session than a competitive match, ended with a resounding score of 120:57 in favour of the Germans. Tristan da Silva was the top scorer of the game, contributing 25 points to the team's total. Daniel Theis, Oscar da Silva, and several other players also scored in double figures.

Interim coach Alan Ibrahimagic had the opportunity to rest loaded players during the game, thanks to the huge lead. Dennis Schröder, the team's captain, took some time off to spend with his family after the game, while Johannes Voigtmann left for Munich to treat his loaded knee and will likely not return for the EM. He will undergo surgery.

The victory was a significant one, surpassing the old record from 1951. It was also a testament to the team's cohesion and skill, with the team making no-look passes and dribbling through their own legs in the game.

Moritz Wagner, who is acting as a TV expert, stated that even easy games are important for players to find their rhythm. Justus Hollatz expressed satisfaction with the team's performance at halftime.

The team's performance so far in the preliminary round has been reminiscent of their successful runs before the 2023 World Championship title and at the 2024 Olympics.

Looking ahead, the team will play hosts Finland on Wednesday for a chance to secure the group victory. The game will be at 7:30 p.m. and can be watched on MagentaSport and RTL. Against Finland, the team around Schröder and Wagner will be the clear favourite.

After the game against Lithuania, the team spent their rest day with a sauna visit and a walk in nature. Ibrahimagic was pleased with the team's performance but noted that they need a win on Wednesday to secure a group victory.

The search results do not provide information about the name of the interim coach fighting for a win against Finland on Tuesday. However, with their impressive form and the support of their fans, the German team will be aiming to continue their winning streak and secure a place in the next round.
