Atletico Madrid Struggle in LaLiga as Simeone Seeks Turnaround

Atletico Madrid are experiencing an underwhelming start to the 2022-23 LaLiga season, with coach Diego Simeone seeking an upturn in results. This is the first time that Atletico Madrid have not won one of their opening three matches under Simeone, a stark contrast to their previous campaigns.

The team's latest outing saw them play a 1-1 draw with Alaves on Saturday. Simeone's son, Giuliano, scored the first goal for Atletico Madrid in the match, but the team was unable to hold onto the lead. Alaves equalized with a penalty kick scored by Carlos Vicente after Alexander Sorloth fouled Nahuel Tenaglia.

Goalkeeper Jan Oblak expressed concern over the underwhelming start to Atletico Madrid's LaLiga campaign. He stated that the team's current performance is not what they had hoped for and that they have lost two points and are experiencing frustration. Oblak is not alone in his sentiments, with Simeone also acknowledging the need for improvement.

Atletico Madrid have failed to win in their last three LaLiga matches. They have lost 2-1 to Espanyol and drawn 1-1 with Elche so far this term. The team's last victory came against Real Betis in their second match of the season.

Simeone remains optimistic, however, and has vowed to continue working with his players to improve their performance on the pitch. He believes that as long as they keep working hard and trusting each other, the points will eventually start to come.

The last time Atletico Madrid failed to win any of their opening games was in the 2009-10 campaign under Abel Resino. During that season, the team experienced its worst start in LaLiga history by failing to win any of the first five matches.

Despite the current challenges, Atletico Madrid fans can take solace in the fact that their team has a history of turning things around when it matters most. With Simeone at the helm, there is no doubt that they will continue to fight for every point and strive for success in the coming weeks.
