The International Automobile Exhibition, one of the most important mobility shows in the world, is currently taking place in Munich for the third time. This year's event is witnessing a significant focus on electric vehicles (EVs), with numerous manufacturers unveiling their latest electric models.

Volkswagen (VW) is presenting two premieres at the IAA Mobility. The first is the VW ID.2 X, an electric SUV, expected to have a range of around 400 kilometers. The second is the new VW T-Roc, the second generation of the compact SUV first presented in 2017.

South Korean manufacturer Kia is making a big splash in Munich this year, unveiling several new vehicles. The compact Kia EV4, with a range of up to 630 km, the SUV Kia EV5 with a range of 530 km, the electric van PV5 with a range of 400 km, and the small SUV concept car EV2 are some of the new additions.

The Spanish VW brand, Cupra, is presenting a new show car, the electric sedan Tindaya, at the IAA Mobility. Named after a volcano on the Canary Island of Fuerteventura, the Tindaya is intended to present the new design language of the brand.

Two electric vehicles from Germany, the BMW iX3 and the Mercedes GLC with EQ technology, are among the highlights of the exhibition. The BMW iX3, a new electric compact SUV, is based on the newly developed technology platform "Neue Klasse". The Mercedes GLC with EQ technology is a compact electric car in SUV format with a high range (up to 700 kilometers) and fast-charging qualities (up to 320 kW).

The VW ID.2 X and the BMW iX3 are not the only EVs with impressive ranges. Both Aion models are set to hit the German market next year with ranges of up to 430 km and 420 km respectively. The Czech VW brand Škoda is also presenting a study at the IAA, the Škoda Vision O, which is a look at an electric station wagon that the brand plans to add to its portfolio in the future.

The IAA Mobility is not just a platform for European manufacturers. More than a hundred Chinese companies are present in Munich, including the Chinese conglomerate GAC (Guangzhou Automobile Group) with their Aion brand and two electric compact models, the Aion UT and Aion V. The Chinese automotive group GAC debuted its flagship new energy models including the AION V at the event.
