Australia Claims Victory in ASEAN U16 Girls' Championship 2025

After a thrilling final match, Australia emerged victorious in the ASEAN U16 Girls' Championship 2025, defeating Thailand 1-0. The winning goal, a perfect strike from Theo Mouitys-Mickalad four minutes after the restart, secured Australia's place at the top of the tournament.

In a close-fought contest, Vietnam and Indonesia battled it out for the bronze medal. The third-placed match, held on August 29 in Surakarta, Indonesia, ended in a 1-1 draw after regular time. However, Vietnam secured the bronze medal following a successful penalty shootout, winning 7-6 against Indonesia.

Vietnam's journey to the third place was not without its challenges. Nazwa Bilbina Putri scored an own goal for Vietnam, giving them an early lead in the match. Naffeza Ayesha equalized for Indonesia in the 15th minute, setting the stage for an exciting second half.

Coach Akira Okiyama of Vietnam expressed his satisfaction with his team's performance, stating, "My team was united and fought hard together for the good result." He also mentioned that despite high pressure, his players were confident and delivered their best.
