The driver of the Hyundai, a 27-year-old Polish national, was later found operating the vehicle without keys and could not produce any vehicle documents. Despite initially evading police control, the driver was later stopped by the authorities.

At 4 a.m., an Audi with German registration was reported stolen on the A15. The driver of the Audi, a 46-year-old Polish national, was discovered to have neither proof of ownership nor a vehicle key.
