On May 7, 2025, an 80-year-old woman from Gevelsberg narrowly avoided falling victim to a bank scam. The incident took place around 11:45 AM at her residence.

However, the victim, who showed remarkable presence of mind, realized the scam and threatened to call the police. This caused the suspect to flee without any further action.
