Lost Roof Box Causes Disruption on Autobahn 45 in Langenselbold

A lost roof box on Autobahn 45 in Langenselbold caused quite a commotion on Tuesday evening at 7:30 PM. According to reports transmitted by news aktuell, the incident resulted in the temporary closure of two lanes in the direction of Aschaffenburg and one lane in the direction of Giessen.

The 59-year-old driver from the Lahn-Dill district was unable to fit the contents of the roof box back into his vehicle, causing the items to spread across approximately 100 meters on two lanes of the highway. Part of the roof box even blew onto the opposite lane towards Giessen.

Fortunately, no one was injured during the incident. The South East Hesse Police Headquarters, led by Police President Daniel Muth, responded promptly to the scene. A second patrol was called to remove the remaining plastic cover and collect the luggage.

The driver, who had to call his son and postpone his planned trip to Croatia, may face an administrative offense procedure.
