Authorities seeking Those Responsible for Presumably Abandoned Headstones
In the town of Dormagen, stone slabs believed to be bases for grave decorations have been discovered, and the local authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward.
On February 26, police officers found these stone slabs along Aldenhovenstraße / Wilhelm-Busch-Straße. Initial findings suggest that these slabs may have been stolen from the Zons cemetery a few days prior.
The owners of the missing grave monument bases in Zons are both private individuals and the local municipality. As of today, these owners have not been identified. The Criminal Investigation Department of Dormagen and the Rhein-Kreis Neuss Police Headquarters are actively investigating this matter.
The stone slabs are currently being displayed at the Zons cemetery by the cemetery administration, providing a visual aid for anyone who might recognise them. Images of these slabs are also available on the official website of Rhein-Kreis Neuss Police at https://rhein-kreis-neuss.polizei.nrw.
For those who wish to provide information, there are several contact options. You can call the police at 02131 3000, or email your information to [email protected]. Alternatively, press inquiries can be emailed to [email protected].
The Rhein-Kreis Neuss Police Headquarters is located at Jülicher Landstraße 1741464 Neuss. For press inquiries, you can also reach out to the Press Office at 02131 300-14000.
The police are asking for the public's help in finding the owners of these stone slabs and the corresponding base slabs that are still missing. Anyone with information is encouraged to come forward to assist in resolving this case.
