Automotive sector embraces Catena-X as its new industry standard.
In the rapidly evolving automotive industry, transparency and collaboration are becoming key factors for success. Industry leaders are emphasising the importance of transparency as a means to fully leverage the benefits of collaboration through use cases.
This emphasis on transparency is reflected in the latest developments within the Catena-X network, a platform designed for efficient, sovereign, and secure data exchange. The network, which is expanding rapidly, is now a prerequisite for new partnerships among some automotive manufacturers.
Eight out of the top 10 largest suppliers in the DACH region are already participating in Catena-X, demonstrating its growing importance in the industry. The Catena-X marketplace offers a variety of apps and services customised to meet the specific needs of companies.
For suppliers, using Catena-X offers a competitive advantage and a means of future-proofing their businesses. Recently added companies from the DACH region supporting data transmission via Catena-X include T-Systems, which accelerates supplier onboarding and plays a key role in Catena-X's architecture and infrastructure.
Cofinity-X, another recent addition, partnered with Deloitte in August 2025 to strengthen data exchange among automotive manufacturers and tier-1 suppliers. MHP teamed up with STACKIT to build secure and sovereign cloud infrastructures for Catena-X, highlighting ongoing collaboration efforts to support the ecosystem.
Notable German companies such as BASF, BMW, Henkel, Mercedes-Benz, SAP, Schaeffler, Siemens, T-Systems, VW, and ZF are among the founders of Cofinity-X, further underscoring the network's significance in the industry. As the Catena-X network continues to grow and evolve, it is clear that it will play a crucial role in shaping the future of the automotive industry.
