Loan secured for Stein once more in Babelsberg - Babelsberg borrows goalkeeper Stein from The Union for another term

In a move aimed at providing the young goalkeeper with valuable playing time, 1. FC Union Berlin has loaned Yannic Stein to SV Babelsberg 03 for the current season. The Brandenburgers, as SV Babelsberg 03 is known, is a regional league side.

Horst Heldt, Union's sporting director, commented that Stein feels comfortable in Babelsberg and can make an impact. The loan was initially planned to last until the summer of 2026, but 1. FC Union Berlin announced in June that they would recall their goalkeeper early.

Stein, a 20-year-old shot-stopper, previously played for SV Babelsberg 03 in the second half of the previous season. His current stint with the club marks his second spell at the regional side. Another loan with playing time, according to Heldt, is a good opportunity for Stein's development.

  1. FC Union Berlin, based in the Bundesliga, recently secured the services of Frederik Rønnow as their new goalkeeper for the 2022/2023 season. Stein's departure means he will not spend the current season with the Bundesliga club.

The location of Babelsberg, where Stein will be plying his trade, is not specified in the current paragraph. The exact duration of the loan is also not clear at this point. Nonetheless, Stein's move to SV Babelsberg 03 promises an exciting chapter in the young goalkeeper's career.
