Band member Oli Sykes from Bring Me The Horizon discusses upcoming release of 'Nex Gen: Director's Cut', stating he has 12 songs ready and all are hits.

Bring Me The Horizon frontman Oli Sykes has revealed exciting news for fans in a recent interview, discussing the band's upcoming music and future plans.

Sykes confirmed that there could be as many as 12 new songs coming from Bring Me The Horizon's 'Next Gen' writing sessions. These songs are set to be a 'Director's Cut' version of their 2024 album 'Post Human: Nex Gen'.

The new material is expected to include unreleased songs from the 'Post Human: Nex Gen' sessions, described by Sykes as "bangers", although the exact track titles have not been publicly disclosed yet.

Sykes also hinted that there might be more records in the 'Post Human' series beyond 'Post Human: Nex Gen'.

In the interview, Sykes discussed his recent focus on being there for his wife after the birth of their twins in July. This shift in priorities has led to a delay in the writing process for the new music, with Sykes stating that he cannot write the new material now and needs to write it in a year when he has been away and allowed his mind to decompress.

Despite this delay, Sykes expressed that he is currently craving a fresh sound and has songs that need to be honed and crafted, but they are not part of the 'Nex Gen' material.

Bring Me The Horizon has had a successful year, with their set at Reading 2025 receiving a five-star review from NME, praising the immersive graphics, pyro, and energy of the performance. The band headlined the dual festival Reading & Leeds for the second time, following a co-headline slot with Arctic Monkeys in 2022.

Sykes also touched on the possibility of Bring Me The Horizon playing at Glastonbury, future plans for the 'Post Human' series, his approach to playing live post fatherhood, and the band potentially touring into their 80s.

Sykes affirmed that ultimately, focusing on other important aspects of his life will help the process and help them make some really good music. He also stated that he enjoys making music but feels comfortable that the band is doing fine and they don't need to do better.

Sykes has said that he wants to release the first single before Rock Am Ring and the second before Reading & Leeds. The interview with Sykes is available for viewing in full in the video above.

While Sykes feels like he owes it to the fans to share new music, he has started to realize that "there are other things that are important in my life now and I've got to make sure that they come first". This shift in perspective is likely to make fans eagerly anticipate the new music from Bring Me The Horizon.
