Band Radiohead announces its return to live concerts after a seven-year hiatus
Radiohead Announces First Tour in Two Decades, Kicks off in November
British rock band Radiohead has announced a 20-date European tour for November and December, marking their first live performances since around the turn of the century. The band, known for seminal albums such as OK Computer and Kid A, is made up of Thom Yorke, Jonny Greenwood, Ed O'Brien, and Colin Greenwood.
The news of the tour follows the reunion of Oasis, Britain's biggest band of the 1990s, in a critically acclaimed tour this summer. Radiohead's tour will consist of four dates each in Madrid, Bologna, London, Copenhagen, and Berlin.
Drummer Philip Selway announced on Instagram last year that the band got together to rehearse, and the members felt good to play their songs again and reconnect with their musical identity after a seven-year pause. The group's third album, OK Computer, was released in 1997 and explored themes like anxiety and alienation, marking a departure from the optimism of the Britpop era.
Fans can register to buy tickets for Radiohead's tour from September 5. The band's first concerts in Germany took place in 1993. Radiohead's tour promises to be an exciting event for fans who have been waiting for two decades to see the band live.
