Bangladesh will compete in a white-ball series in Afghanistan, following the conclusion of the Asia Cup.

The much-anticipated white-ball series between Afghanistan and Bangladesh is all set to begin in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on October 2. The series, which consists of T20Is followed by ODIs, will provide an exciting spectacle for cricket enthusiasts around the world.

The series kicks off with the first T20I match on Thursday, October 2. The following day, on Friday, October 3, the second T20I match will take place. The third T20I match is scheduled for Sunday, October 5, and the fourth T20I match will be played on Thursday, October 14.

The second ODI match will take place on Saturday, October 11, and the first ODI match will be played on Wednesday, October 8.

This will mark Afghanistan's first T20I series this year. In T20Is, Afghanistan has shown a strong performance against Bangladesh, having won 7 out of 12 games so far. In ODIs, the record is slightly more balanced, with Afghanistan winning 8 games out of 19 played, while Bangladesh has emerged victorious in 11 games.

Naseeb Khan, the CEO of the Afghanistan Cricket Board, expressed his excitement about the series. "We are looking forward to this series against Bangladesh. It will provide us with valuable experience ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup 2026," he said.

Similarly, Nizamuddin Chowdhury, the CEO of the Bangladesh Cricket Board, shared a similar sentiment. "We have had some successful T20I series recently, and we are confident of our performance against Afghanistan," he said.

It's worth noting that the national teams of Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates competed in both an ODI series and a T20I series in the UAE in October 2021. Bangladesh, too, has been successful in their recent T20I series against Sri Lanka and Pakistan.

The series in October is part of Afghanistan's build-up for the ICC T20 World Cup 2026, providing both teams with an opportunity to showcase their skills and strategies ahead of the major tournament. Fans can expect a thrilling contest between two talented teams, with both sides eager to secure a win.
