Bank Employee in Broken County Siphons Off Stolen Funds
In Circular Borken, Germany, on the 3rd of June, 2025, a senior citizen became the victim of a fraudster. The crime took place at around 11:00 a.m.
The perpetrator, described as a stocky individual with dark hair, approximately 20 years old and standing at around 1.75 meters tall, contacted the senior citizen by phone, claiming to be a bank employee. The fraudster asked the senior citizen if a transaction from his account was correct and convinced him to hand over his bank card and PIN.
Later, the perpetrator visited the senior citizen, claiming that the card was not in order. The fraudster then withdrew a four-digit amount with the senior citizen's card.
The senior citizen became suspicious and contacted his bank, reporting the incident. The police have renewed their warning against similar scams, advising that anyone receiving a call asking for TAN or PIN numbers should not engage and should contact the bank and police immediately.
