Bechtle Consolidates Operations and Forms New Unit

In a significant move, German IT company Bechtle has announced the consolidation of several of its locations into larger units, with the latest being a new shared location in Neu-Ulm, Bavaria. This development comes alongside the formation of a new unit, the "Westfalen-Niederrhein" unit, established on August 1, 2025.

The "Westfalen-Niederrhein" unit, led by Frank Wrede, Klaus Pattai, and Holger R. Müller, is a combination of the activities of five system houses, including locations in Dortmund, Düsseldorf, Münster, Meschede, and Siegen. The unit currently employs a total of 500 people and boasts a combined turnover of 450 million euros.

Holger R. Müller, a key figure in the "Westfalen-Niederrhein" unit, previously worked for Adesso before joining Bechtle. Meanwhile, Roland König has served as the managing director of Bechtle Munich/Regensburg since 1998.

Bechtle's consolidation in Neu-Ulm, Bavaria, is a separate organizational change from the formation of the "Westfalen-Niederrhein" unit. The new location, currently under construction, is intended to house the combined companies of the system house Ulm, Bechtle PLM Germany, and the Bechtle Network & Security Solutions GmbH (formerly Stemmer GmbH). The employees of the system house Ulm and the staff of Bechtle PLM Germany are expected to move into the new location by 2026.

The goal of the "Westfalen-Niederrhein" unit is to expand regional technology and service expertise, while also achieving cost efficiency. Bechtle, which has been consolidating multiple locations into larger units for some time, aims to strengthen its position in the market with these strategic moves.

The Bechtle System House Bonn, with a Cologne location as a subsidiary and over 700 employees, is not directly involved in these changes. The founding date of Bechtle-GmbH "Westfalen-Niederrhein" is not provided in the search results.

This consolidation in Neu-Ulm, Bavaria, marks the latest in Bechtle's efforts to streamline its operations and create larger, more efficient units. The company announced the combination of several companies at one location at the beginning of 2023. As Bechtle continues to grow and adapt, it will be interesting to see how these changes impact the IT industry in Germany and beyond.
