The ICE 3neo, the most modern and innovative train in Deutsche Bahn's (DB) fleet, has made its debut. Named "Düsseldorf", this pioneering train is now in service and serves as an ambassador of the Rhineland's unique way of life.

The christening ceremony for the ICE 3neo "Düsseldorf" took place on track 20 of the main station, just in time for carnival. The train was christened with Altbier, a traditional beverage from the region, and bears the logo "200 Years Düsseldorf Carnival" and a drawing by Jacques Tilly.

Each vehicle of the ICE 3neo train offers numerous comforts for passengers, including coloured LED reservation displays, mobile phone-friendly windows, a light environment that changes with the time of day, power outlets, and tablet holders at every seat.

The ICE 3neo is an important part of the renewal of the long-distance fleet. More than 24 of the total of 90 ordered ICE 3neo have already been delivered. The remaining trains will follow in the coming years.

The ICE 3neo will be shuttling between Frankfurt and Amsterdam in the future, regularly stopping in Düsseldorf. It will continue to serve as an ambassador of the Rhineland's way of life. In addition, the train will be available in the Netherlands and Belgium in time for the start of the football EM in June 2024.

The DB is confident that the deployment of the ICE 3neo will significantly reduce train cancellations on connections to neighbouring countries. The train's robust lift makes barrier-free boarding easier for wheelchair users, enhancing accessibility for all passengers.

The ICE 3neo trains are built by Siemens Mobility in Krefeld. The train was built in the same city, further emphasising the local connection and pride in this innovative transport solution.

Unfortunately, the search results do not provide the names of the persons involved in the christening of the ICE 3neo "Düsseldorf". Nonetheless, the arrival of this cutting-edge train marks a new era for long-distance travel in the region. Each of the eight bike parking spaces on board is a testament to the train's commitment to sustainability and promoting active travel.

As the ICE 3neo continues to roll out across the network, passengers can look forward to a more comfortable, efficient, and environmentally-friendly journey.
