A car accident in Berlin-Wedding has left several people injured, including a group of children and their caretaker. The incident occurred on Thursday afternoon, around 12:50 PM, at the intersection of Seestraße and Dohnagestell.

The accident took place when the children were crossing the street. According to reports, a 20-year-old man was driving the car and struck the group, causing injuries to the caretaker and three children aged 7 to 8 from Moabit. The caretaker was seriously injured, while the children and the driver sustained light injuries.

More than 40 personnel were deployed at the scene to provide assistance. The children and the driver were taken to a hospital for treatment. Further information about the health status of the injured caretaker and the three children was not immediately available.

The cause of the accident was initially unclear, but investigations suggest that the driver may have been under the influence of intoxicating substances. Police found approximately 90 grams of suspected marijuana in his possession, indicating a serious drug-related background. However, no prior information about his history as a driver or professional driver was reported.

Authorities have provisionally arrested the driver, and investigations are ongoing to determine the exact cause of the accident. It is important to note that there is no indication of a terrorist motive, and it was not an act of road rage.
