Best-selling Vehicles in Belarus: Identifying the Top Cars and Their Prices
In the automotive landscape of Belarus, 2024 saw a significant milestone with a record high of 53,178 passenger cars sold in April, marking a five-year high.
The Belarusian market witnessed a surge in the popularity of Chinese-origin cars, accounting for 65% of the total sales. Among the Chinese brands, Dongfeng made a strong impression with the Dongfeng Shine GS, a front-wheel-drive crossover that sold 1,750 units.
The Dongfeng Shine GS, known for its spacious interior, large trunk, sunroof, and robotic transmission, boasts a maximum speed of up to 175 km/h and a fuel consumption of 6-6.2 liters per 100 km in a mixed cycle.
Another Chinese brand, Geely, made its mark with the Geely Tugella, a premium all-wheel-drive crossover assembled in Belarus. By the end of 2024, 1,212 units of the Tugella were sold.
Homegrown Belarusian brands also shone brightly in the market. The Belgee H50, a front-wheel-drive crossover, was the first Belarusian car to be sold in significant numbers, with 8,570 units sold in 2024. The Belgee S50, positioned as a sedan of a new level of comfort, sold 7,357 units in its first month on the market. Both the H50 and S50 offer features like a turbocharged gasoline engine, a panoramic sunroof, and competitive base prices.
The Belgee X70, a full-time crossover launched in the summer of 2024, also found favour with consumers. By the end of the year, 5,669 units were sold. The X70 features a mild hybrid system and a base price of 77,640 rubles.
Russian brands also held their ground in the Belarusian market. The LADA Granta, a sedan with a gasoline engine and a 5-speed manual transmission, sold 3,981 units in Belarus in 2024. The Granta offers a power of 90 horsepower, a top speed of 179 km/h, and a fuel consumption in the mixed cycle of from 6.5 to 6.8 liters per 100 km. The base price of the LADA Granta ranges from 34,580 rubles.
Another Russian offering, the Lada Vesta, sold 6,009 units in Belarus in 2024. The Vesta, a sedan, offers a trunk volume of 480 liters and a base price of 45,900 rubles.
The LADA Niva Legend, an off-road vehicle produced by AvtoVAZ, sold 952 units in Belarus by the end of 2024.
In the race for the top spot in sales volume, Belgee/Geely, Lada, Dongfeng, Voyah, Haval, Nissan, FAW Bestune, Jetour, Audi, and UAZ emerged as the leading brands, accounting for 98% of sales.
The Voyah Free, a premium all-wheel-drive crossover from Dongfeng, was named the best car of the year - 2024 in Belarus by "BAA".
Meanwhile, the compact crossover market saw the Havai Jolion, produced in China, sell 915 units in Belarus from February to December 2024.
