Betting group Aposta Wins Fixed-Odds Betting License Approval in Brazil

Brazilian Sports Betting Platform Grupo Aposta Ganha Secures License for Fixed-Odds Lottery Betting

In a significant development, Grupo Aposta Ganha, a rapidly growing sports betting and online gaming platform in Brazil, has been given the green light to operate fixed-odds lottery betting. The authorization, issued by the Secretariat of Prizes and Betting (SPA) under the Ministry of Finance, is valid until December 31, 2029.

This move bolsters Grupo Aposta Ganha's standing in the expanding Brazilian gaming industry, as it adheres to Law No. 13,756/2018 and Law No. 14,790/2023, which regulate fixed-odds betting in the country.

With a registration number 0022 in the Betting Management System (Sigap), Aposta Ganha is among the first to be licensed under SPA. The company has been an advocate of Responsible Gaming, incorporating these values into its operations even before the SPA's stringent measures were outlined.

CEO Ramon Lima of Grupo Aposta Ganha commented, "Securing our license marks the culmination of hard work and collaboration with the SPA under the Ministry of Finance. Our goal has always been to operate within a regulated Brazilian market, and we are thrilled to contribute to a sustainable betting market in our country."

In the realm of fixed-odds betting in Brazil, 79 companies have been authorized to operate, with 72 having governmental authorization and seven operating under court decisions. Compliance with anti-money laundering (AML) and countering the financing of terrorism (CFT) measures is mandatory, and regulations restrict betting to sports competitions and online games. The SPA regularly updates the list of authorized companies to reflect changes in regulatory compliance and court decisions.

While specific details regarding Grupo Aposta Ganha's authorization status are not immediately available, the company will need to comply with these regulations to continue its operations. The recent certification of Risk Cherry as a compliance body and Lottopar's anti-money laundering ordinance underscore the emphasis on regulatory adherence in the industry.
