BHC Preparing for Tough Encounter Against Erlangen Amid Injury Woes

The Bundesliga Handball Club (BHC) is gearing up for a challenging match against Erlangen, with key player Tomas Babak sidelined due to back problems. Søren Servos has been called up as a replacement, although his participation in the game is yet to be confirmed.

Most of Erlangen's runs go through Sander Overjordet and Viggo Kristjansson, making them a formidable duo to contend with. The BHC coach, Arnor Gunnarsson, is particularly aware of Antonio Metzner's shooting power and is preparing his team accordingly.

In their last game against Füchse Berlin, the BHC started strongly, creating chances and maintaining a patient positional attack for the first 43 minutes. However, a slump in performance saw them fall behind, leading to a ruthless punishment by Füchse Berlin, resulting in a 27:39 loss.

The BHC will be without Belal Massoud for their first home match due to a muscle fiber tear. Lukas Becher, a new signing for the BHC and a former player of the club, will step in on the left wing. Becher, who also has Bundesliga experience, is a potential penalty shooter and could prove to be a valuable addition to the team.

The BHC's opponents, Erlangen, boast a robust defense, with Maciej Gebala and Florian Scheerer often forming the center. Christoph Steinert defends on the half position, providing a solid foundation for the team. Andri Runarsson is also a good addition to Erlangen's squad.

The BHC coach expresses the team's desire to play a good game and take their chance if it comes up. Gunnarsson believes the chances of getting the first points of the season against Erlangen are better than against Füchse Berlin.

Meanwhile, the HCE, who lost their opener against THW Kiel, will face a similar challenge against Erlangen's robust defense. Despite a commendable performance, the HCE will need to be at their best to secure a win.

With Tomas Babak's fitness still a concern, Søren Servos could potentially step in as a backup for the captain in the upcoming games against TVB Stuttgart on Wednesday and Saturday. The BHC will be hoping for a strong performance to kick-start their season on a positive note.
