Bicyclist fatally struck by collision with heavy vehicle inFW Hannover
In the heart of Hannover, a tragic incident unfolded on Monday morning at the intersection of Ada-Lessing-Straße and Langenforther Straße. A traffic accident involving a cyclist and a truck resulted in severe injuries for the 62-year-old victim.
Upon arrival, emergency services, including a fire engine from Fire and Rescue Station 5 and a rescue helicopter, swiftly attended the scene. The victim was not trapped, allowing immediate medical treatment. Regrettably, despite the best efforts of the medical professionals, the injured person later succumbed to their injuries at a hospital in Hannover.
The truck driver was also attended to by the fire service. Witnesses reported that the cyclist had been run over by a truck, and the police are now focusing their search on the driver of a dark-coloured vehicle with a silver stripe, believed to be the passenger car involved in the accident.
