Bike Charity Event Swamped with Sign-Ups

The 19th Lila Logistik Charity Bike Cup is quickly approaching, with the event scheduled for October 3rd on the historic Solitude racetrack at Glemseck. The charity bike race, organised by MA6LIA N3RA gGmbH, has already allocated 1400 starting spots, but there are still approximately 100 spots remaining for hobby cyclists to secure their place.

Interested participants can visit the event's homepage to secure one of the last available starting spots. This year's event promises to be a thrilling one, with celebrities such as football world champion Guido Buchwald, Tatort star Richy Müller, and cycling Olympic champion Olaf Ludwig participating as team captains.

The Charity Bike Cup offers two races to choose from. The Lila-Race begins early in the morning and covers seven laps on a 12.3-kilometer course, while the Lila-Tour starts later in the day and covers five laps. There is no timekeeping in the Charity Bike Cup, and e-bikes are allowed.

The event's sponsors include the ADAC Wuerttemberg, who will be sending two teams into the race and providing entertainment along the route. The ADAC Wuerttemberg's entertainment offerings include a Formula 1 simulator, a rollover simulator, and offerings from local clubs.

The proceeds from the Charity Bike Cup support regional projects to help children suffering from illness, disability, or social disadvantage. Since its first event in 2007, the charity bike race has raised funds totalling 740,000 euros for the Star Care association.

Leonberg's mayor, Martin Cohn, has expressed support for the Charity Bike Cup, committing to the event taking place in Leonberg. The event has gained significant attention and support from the local community, with the managing director of MA6LIA N3RA gGmbH, Patrick Betz, announcing a record number of participants six weeks before the event.

In addition to the charity bike race, there is a missing person case in Filderstadt-Bonlanden that may be related to the location. The police are currently investigating the case and have not released any further information at this time.
