Biker collides with automobile
Yesterday afternoon, around 4:30 PM, a serious motorcycle accident occurred on Köpenicker Straße, near Schlesisches Tor in Kreuzberg. The traffic investigation unit of Police Directorate 1 (North) is currently investigating the incident.
Initial reports suggested that a man was involved in the accident, but it has since been clarified that the motorcyclist was a woman. The 64-year-old woman was riding her motorcycle towards Schlesisches Tor when she attempted to overtake other vehicles using the bike lane on the right side of the road.
As she was overtaking, a 63-year-old woman driving a car in front of the motorcyclist attempted to turn right into a driveway. This action caused the motorcyclist to collide with the car, sending her onto the opposite lane. The motorcyclist then slid into the path of a 54-year-old man driving towards her.
Fortunately, the drivers of the car and the man's vehicle were unharmed in the accident. However, the motorcyclist sustained severe injuries and was taken to a hospital, where she was admitted.
At the time of writing, the woman's identity has not been disclosed in the available search results. The traffic investigation unit is working diligently to gather more information about the incident.
We extend our thoughts and prayers to the motorcyclist for a speedy recovery. This incident serves as a reminder to all road users to exercise caution and patience while driving, especially when overtaking and making turns.
