BMW Driver Apprehended in Nuremberg for Driving Without a Valid License
In a series of events that unfolded on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, a 30-year-old man found himself in a high-speed chase with the Nuremberg police. The dramatic incident began in Spittlertorgraben, where the police attempted to stop the man for a routine traffic check.
However, the man, driving a grey 7-series BMW, chose to ignore the police and sped towards the city center, disregarding red lights and driving at excessive speeds. The police pursued the man along Neutorgraben, but the man eventually fled his vehicle at Weinmarkt and escaped on foot.
The grey 7-series BMW was quickly impounded by the police and further investigations at the scene revealed that the driver did not have a valid driver's license. The man was later arrested near Lorenzkirche in Nuremberg's city center.
The police took a blood sample from the man and have initiated several investigations against him. However, they have not released his identity to the public. The man is suspected of committing several offenses, although no further details about these offenses have been provided.
Synthetic drugs were found in the impounded BMW, but it is unclear if these are related to the offenses the man is suspected of committing. The man initially cooperated with the police but fled when asked for his driver's license.
On Tuesday morning, a 51-year-old man had to stand trial, as reported on August 27, 2025. It is unclear if this incident is related to that trial. The police have not released any additional information regarding the current status of the investigations against the 30-year-old man.
