BMW Innovation Department continues to back energy conservation advisory services

The Federal Ministry of Economics has announced an extension of the funding directive for energy-saving contracting, which will run until 31 December 2018. This move aims to support municipalities, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and non-profit organisations in their efforts to save energy and increase efficiency.

Since January 2015, the Federal Office for Economic Affairs and Export Control (BAFA) has been funding consultations on energy-saving contracting. This service, known as energy-saving contracting, helps entities plan and implement measures to reduce energy consumption.

The extension of the funding directive will take effect on 1 January 2018. Entities can apply for funding in 2018 to receive independent and qualified contracting advice for energy savings in their own properties. This extension is part of the government's commitment to increasing energy efficiency, particularly within the public sector, which serves as a role model for the wider community.

Additionally, a separate website here offers information on contracting advice. These websites provide valuable resources for entities seeking to make their operations more energy-efficient.

The KfW (Kreditanstalt fΓΌr Wiederaufbau) has been responsible for disbursing grants for counseling related to energy-saving contracts since 1 January 2018, following an extension decision by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi). This extension of the funding directive is expected to facilitate a significant reduction in energy consumption across various sectors in Germany.
