BMW kicks off the New Class era by introducing the electric iX3 SUV.

The BMW Group has unveiled its latest electric offering, the iX3, marking the first series-produced model built on the company's Neue Klasse architecture. This electric Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) promises to redefine the driving experience with its innovative features and sleek design.

Measuring 4,782 mm in length and boasting a drag coefficient of 0.24, the iX3 is a testament to BMW's commitment to efficiency and aerodynamics. The vehicle's exterior styling introduces BMW's new design language, featuring minimal forms and strong character lines that give it a distinctive presence on the road.

The iX3's interior is no less impressive. A floating instrument panel and backlit trim create a modern and luxurious ambience, while the flat, sofa-style rear seat offers ample comfort for passengers. Various trim packages are available, including M Sport and BMW Individual configurations, allowing customers to tailor the iX3 to their personal preferences.

The iX3's technology is equally impressive. Information is projected across the entire windshield via BMW Panoramic Vision, providing drivers with an unparalleled view of the road. The infotainment system enables streaming, gaming, and video conferencing, making the iX3 a mobile entertainment hub as well as a means of transportation.

The iX3's performance is equally impressive, with the vehicle accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds and boasting a top speed of 210 km/h. Standard equipment includes electric seat adjustment, climate control, and wireless phone charging, ensuring a comfortable and convenient driving experience.

The iX3 also offers a range of innovative charging options. It supports bidirectional charging, including Vehicle-to-Load (V2L), Vehicle-to-Home (V2H), and Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) functions, allowing it to power other devices or even feed electricity back into the grid.

Production of the iX3 50 xDrive variant will begin in autumn 2025 at BMW Group's new plant in Debrecen, Hungary. The iX3 uses up to 30 % recycled materials in its construction and 80 % secondary aluminium for various chassis components, making it an environmentally-friendly choice.

The iX3 features two electric motors that produce a combined 345 kW (469 hp) and 645 Nm (476 lb-ft) of torque. It offers a WLTP range of up to 805 kilometres and supports a peak charging rate of 400 kilowatts. The market launch for the iX3 is planned for spring 2026 in Europe and summer 2026 in North America.

When charged using renewable electricity, the vehicle's carbon footprint becomes lower than that of a comparable internal combustion model after 17,500 kilometres. The iX3 also achieves a 34 % reduction in carbon emissions over its lifecycle compared to its predecessor, based on a total mileage of 200,000 kilometres.

Optional features for the iX3 range from a Harman Kardon audio system to adaptive headlights and BMW's Iconic Glow exterior lighting package. The cargo area offers up to 1,750 litres of space when rear seats are folded, with an additional 58 litres available in the frunk.

The iX3 incorporates a new electronics architecture with four high-performance computers, ensuring smooth and efficient operation. With its combination of style, performance, and innovation, the iX3 is set to redefine the electric vehicle market.
