BMW unveils the 'New Class' iX3 Electric Vehicle, boasting extensive range, and an upgraded infotainment system.

BMW has taken a significant step forward in its electric vehicle (EV) strategy with the announcement of the first Neue Klasse electric vehicle – the BMW iX3. This groundbreaking development project, spearheaded by BMW's internal team focused on the new platform and sixth-generation electric drive architecture, marks a radical rethinking of BMW's philosophy.

The first model to hit the stores will be the BMW iX3 50 xDrive, a powerful EV boasting a maximum output of 469 horsepower. With this model, BMW aims to implement a new dedicated electric vehicle architecture for future models, starting with the BMW iX3.

The BMW iX3 50 xDrive offers impressive performance, accelerating from 0-100 km/h in just 4.9 seconds. It also supports 400kW charging at compatible charging stations, ensuring quick and efficient recharging.

The WLTP range of the BMW iX3 50 xDrive is an impressive 679-805 kilometers (421-500 miles), providing EV drivers with the confidence to travel longer distances without the need for frequent stops.

In addition to its impressive performance and range, the BMW iX3 50 xDrive also features the BMW Panoramic iDrive infotainment system. Designed for a holistic experience, this system promises to elevate the driving experience for BMW's electric vehicle drivers.

However, BMW's electric vehicle ambitions have faced a setback, as the EU faces legal action from both BMW and Tesla over tariffs on Chinese-made EVs. This legal action could potentially impact the affordable pricing of these EV models in the European market.

Despite this challenge, BMW remains committed to its electric vehicle future, with the Neue Klasse project serving as a testament to its dedication to sustainable mobility. The first officially unveiled Neue Klasse car, the BMW iX3, is just the beginning of a new era for BMW.
