Border Control at Waidhaus A6: Albanian Nationals Detained Possessing Prohibited Knife by Federal Police Munich

Border Control at Waidhaus on the A6, supervised by the Federal Police Directorate Munich, halted Albanian individuals possessing a forbidden knife.

In a recent incident, the Waidhaus federal police, working in close cooperation with Bavarian and Czech police and customs, thwarted a potential cross-border crime attempt. The incident unfolded on May 27, during enhanced border controls on the A6.

The suspect, a 20-year-old Albanian citizen, was found with an Albanian passport and a one-handed knife hidden in his backpack. The possession and carrying of such a knife is prohibited in Germany under the Weapons Act.

Upon discovery of the knife, the suspect was refused entry into Germany as he could not present any other valid documents for entry. Since he also possessed a Czech exit document, an "Act", requiring him to leave the Czech Republic within a few days, he was unable to provide the necessary documentation to enter Germany legally.

After completion of the police measures, the suspect was rejected at the border and handed over to the Czech authorities. It is worth noting that the Czech authorities have issued an entry ban for this individual.

The Waidhaus federal police inspectorate, located at Vohenstraußer Straße 14, 92726 Waidhaus, is responsible for the districts of Neustadt an der Waldnaab, Tirschenreuth, and the independent city of Weiden. The inspectorate is characterized by numerous main traffic arteries, and its core tasks include internal border search and ensuring the safety of rail passengers.
