Border dispute between Poland and Hungary: Conflict over territorial boundaries.
On a Friday evening in November 2024, the Police Inspectorate Heidekreis carried out a significant drug-related operation on the A7 motorway, supported by units from the Police Directorate Hannover, the Police Directorate Oldenburg, and the Main Customs Office Hannover.
The control, which lasted for multiple hours, resulted in the discovery of numerous violations. During the subsequent search of one of the vehicles, over 16 kilograms of marijuana were seized. The marijuana was packed in three sports bags stored in the trunk of the rental vehicle.
Initially, the alert was about a car driven by a 33-year-old. Upon inspection, over a kilogram of marijuana was found in a cooler bag in the 33-year-old's car. However, the person who had the over 15 kilograms of marijuana found in the sports bags in the trunk of the rental car has not been identified in the available search results.
A total of 181 vehicles and 229 people were checked during the control. Eight individuals were required to provide a blood sample, and one of them, a 26-year-old, tested positive for THC.
Traffic on the A7 heading towards Hannover was rerouted to the "Vorm Wietzenbruch" rest area due to the extensive control. No further information about the nature of the violations was provided, except for the discovery of large quantities of marijuana.
