BPOLI LUD: Fine and expenses settled, warrant revoked
The German Federal Police had an encounter with a 38-year-old Romanian man on the A4 Motorway at Görlitz yesterday evening. Upon entering the country, the man was presented with a choice: pay up and continue his journey, or face arrest.
The man, who had an outstanding arrest warrant issued by the Public Prosecutor's Office in Dresden four months ago due to unpaid fines related to document forgery, chose to settle the matter. He transferred €1,581 to cover the fine and procedural costs.
The Federal Police Inspectorate Ludwigsdorf made the announcement regarding the payment and lifting of the arrest warrant via news aktuell. The warrant was issued due to the man's neglect to pay a fine imposed by the Dippoldiswalde Local Court for forgery of evidence.
The incident did not prevent the man's entry into Germany. The man's decision to pay the fine instead of being taken into custody resulted in the arrest warrant being canceled.

This incident serves as a reminder for all travelers to ensure they comply with the laws of the countries they visit and settle any outstanding fines to avoid potential legal complications.
