Unfortunately, he did not get a decision due to the struggles of the Blue Jays' bullpen, which remained a concern despite Gausman's strong performance. Seranthony Dominguez pitched a clean eighth inning for the Blue Jays, but Yariel Rodriguez, Jeff Hoffman, and others in the bullpen could not hold the lead.

Brandon Woodruff is scheduled to start for the Brewers in the series finale, while Max Scherzer will take the mound for the Blue Jays. The Blue Jays bolstered their roster during the 2025 season with the acquisitions of Isiah Kiner-Falefa and Dillon Tate, as well as the debut of Shane Bieber. Kiner-Falefa was claimed off waivers from the Pirates and joined the roster in September, while Dillon Tate was selected from Triple-A around the same time.
