Building Fire and Traffic Mishap - Firefighters in Hattingen called to action twice

In the evening of Tuesday, the Hattingen Fire Department was kept busy responding to two separate incidents.

The first incident occurred at around 6:45 PM on Felderbachstraße in Elfringhausen. A collision between a car and a tractor led to the immediate response of the fire department. The North crew and protective equipment units from Mitte, Oberbredenscheid, and Niederwenigern were dispatched to the scene.

Further firefighters positioned the turntable ladder in front of the building as a precaution. Spilled hazardous materials were absorbed using a special binding agent, ensuring fire safety at the scene. The vehicle batteries were disconnected, and both drivers were taken to nearby hospitals with light injuries.

The second incident was reported shortly after on Blankensteiner Straße. A smoke alarm in an apartment building indicated a possible fire. Smoke was visible, so a fire was assumed. The Elfringhausen fire crew arrived and provided assistance to both crews.

A team in heavy breathing apparatus entered the smoky apartment and quickly extinguished the fire near the sofa. One resident was immediately taken out through the staircase and handed over to the rescue service. The injured parties were outside the vehicle and only had light injuries.

Smoke alarms once again proved to be life-savers in this incident. The second person in the apartment was also taken out by the firefighters and provided with medical care. After handing over the injured to the ambulance, the scene was turned over to the police.

For further questions about the incident on Blankensteiner Straße, contacting the Hattingen fire department directly would be advised. The deputy leader of the Hattingen Fire Department is Thomas Gurski; the actual leader's name is not specified in the available search results.

The Hattingen Fire Department, with its quick response and efficient handling of both incidents, ensured the safety of the community and provided necessary assistance to the injured.
