Building site under development
Detmold, Germany - The city administration has announced the commencement of construction work on Schlossplatz in Detmold. Here's what you need to know about the upcoming changes and how they may affect your daily routine.
The construction work, which is scheduled to last approximately four months, will primarily focus on installing rainwater systems, working on fountains, paving surfaces, and supply lines. A large excavation pit will be dug towards the theater square, known as the "Red Gate."
To accommodate the construction, the main access from the theater square to the castle square will be closed. The only access route during this phase will be via Lange Street. A driving lane will be marked and signposted in Lange Street for the duration of the construction phase, allowing space for large vehicles near the ice cream parlor "Piccoli."
During peak business hours, construction companies will aim to avoid driving into Lange Street to minimise disruption. Residents of the castle square are asked to only use their access permission in urgent cases during the construction phase.
To ensure pedestrian access, a non-barrier-free path will be provided from Rosental, between the city hall and "H&M." The press release for the construction on the castle square can be found on our city portal.
For inquiries about the construction, Thorsten Engelhardt can be contacted at 05231 977 105. The city administration encourages everyone to stay informed and plan their journeys accordingly during this construction period.
