Business owner in Kamchatka faced sanctions for selling spoiled eggs to a customer
=========================================================================
A resident of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky has been sentenced to 3.5 years in a settlement colony for committing fraud involving the sale of caviar.
Last summer, the woman posted an online ad selling caviar at a discounted price, offering 20 kg of the luxury delicacy. When a buyer agreed to purchase the product, the woman showed them a small portion of good quality product. However, upon receiving the payment of 50,000 rubles, the woman returned only 2,500 rubles and provided poor quality, spoiled red caviar before disappearing.
The defrauded buyer reported the incident to the police, and the woman's actions were classified as fraud causing significant damage. The court found the verdict lawful and fair, and the defendant attempted to appeal, seeking a suspended sentence. However, the court's decision was firm, and the defendant was given a real prison sentence instead of a suspended one.
The defendant had a suspended sentence for similar crimes in the past and had already been on probation at the time of the fraud. Her recidivism (repeating the commission of similar crimes) was a factor in the court's decision. The court also confiscated the defendant's smartphone, which was used to commit the crime, for the state.
The defendant has two minor children and partially reimbursed the damage caused by the fraud. However, her probation was revoked due to the new fraud charges. The Kamchatka Regional Court upheld the verdict, and the woman will serve her sentence in a colony labor camp.
It is worth noting that there are no available search results providing information about the details of the crime that led to the 3.5-year prison sentence or details about the defendant's prior probation or unserved sentence for similar crimes.
