Businesses Aiding in Nature's Prosperity in Suffolk

Suffolk Wildlife Trust has launched Mission 2030, a three-year plan to raise £1 million for habitat restoration and securing a wilder future for Suffolk. The initiative focuses on expanding and connecting wild spaces, partnering with farmers, advocating for wildlife-friendly planning, and engaging communities.

One such partner in this conservation effort is Bonitas Wholefoods, an independent retailer in Stowmarket. Bonitas Wholefoods has chosen Suffolk Wildlife Trust as their beneficiary for the 2024-2025 financial year, contributing to the Trust's Mission 2030 campaign.

The partnership between Bonitas Wholefoods and Suffolk Wildlife Trust demonstrates how small businesses can make a significant impact on environmental conservation. Businesses can sponsor or volunteer for habitat restoration or community engagement events, or even adopt sustainable practices like reducing waste and sourcing locally, as encouraged by Mission 2030.

Bonitas Wholefoods owner, Oliver Walters, stated that they always wanted a regular, structured giving mechanism to support environmental charities, and giving 1% of their annual turnover is a meaningful way for them to do so. Bonitas Wholefoods offers organic produce, refillable household goods, and sustainable personal care products, aligning profit with purpose.

Mission 2030 aims to restore habitats across more than 7,000 acres of nature reserves. It also involves partnering with farmers to promote nature-positive practices and reconnect habitats. The goal is to protect, restore, and create wildlife habitats across Suffolk to achieve significant biodiversity gains and address the climate crisis by the year 2030.

Mission 2030 further advocates for wildlife-friendly planning and strong biodiversity targets across Suffolk. Interested businesses can reach out to Suffolk Wildlife Trust's partnership team at partnerships@ourwebsite for partnership opportunities.

Businesses can also support local environmental charities by joining the 1% for the Planet initiative. By doing so, they help protect Suffolk's wildlife and landscapes for future generations, encouraging everyone to make conscious choices for a greener future.
