"CAA faces confrontation and deaths in Granada"

In a tragic incident that took place on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at 7:05 am, a 25-year-old resident named Bimbo Malingko Lumambas was killed in a grenade attack at the CAA Patrol Base in Barangay Nalapaan, Maledigao, Special Geographic Area-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (SGA-Barmm).

Lieutenant Colonel Jopy Ventura of the Police Regional Office-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region (PRO-BAR) confirmed the incident, stating that it occurred while Lumambas was with the CAA Patrol Base in Barangay Nalapaan, Maledigao, SGA-Barmm.

The victim, a resident of Barangay Kalakacan, Pikit, Cotabato Province, was transported to the Cruzado Medical Hospital in Pikit but was declared dead on arrival due to severe abdominal injuries and bleeding.

The investigation into the incident is currently being conducted by the Maledigao Municipal Police Station. According to the reports, only one unidentified person was involved in the incident, who threw a grenade and fled towards Barangay Bualan, Tugunan, SGA-Barmm.

The commander of the CAA Patrol Base where the incident occurred is not publicly available information at this time.
