Cable theft incident reported

A break-in at a transformer house in Alsfeld has caused a power outage and the theft of a significant amount of copper cable. The incident occurred early on the morning of 4th August, with an employee of a local energy supplier reporting the power outage on Hochstraße at around 4:08 AM.

Unknown individuals forced their way into the transformer house, causing disruption to the power supply. The intruders made off with a substantial quantity of copper cable, with the estimated value of the stolen goods falling within the lower five-digit range. This incident has also resulted in additional property damage of approximately 2,000 euros.

The power disruption was resolved around 1.45 AM, and power was restored to the surrounding houses. The leader of the Polizeidirektion Osthessen, Polizeipräsident Daniel Muth, has commented on the incident, expressing concern over the theft and the subsequent power outage.
