CaixaBank and Arval Extend Partnership to Boost Sustainable Mobility

Spanish financial group CaixaBank and Arval have renewed their partnership and extended it for another five years. The renewed agreement reaffirms the commitment of both companies to offer a broad range of leasing products and services, with a focus on sustainable mobility.

The new leasing models and platform are part of the CaixaBank-Arval alliance's strategy to accelerate the introduction of sustainable mobility. The partnership's goal remains committed to developing innovative financial products and vehicle leasing solutions.

The renewed partnership will establish a joint team for operational coordination to finance 200,000 new vehicles by 2030. CaixaBank and Arval aim to market an additional 200,000 vehicles in Spain over the next five years.

The CaixaBank-Arval alliance fleet is one of Spain's largest leasing fleets, with over 70,000 vehicles. Currently, EVs comprise 17% of the alliance fleet, and the new leasing models under development aim to encourage EV adoption. The fleet is among the leaders in sustainable mobility, with a significant number of electric vehicles.

In 2024, nearly 20,000 vehicles were brought into circulation by the CaixaBank-Arval alliance. A new initiative to expand the range of mobility solutions offered by the alliance is the platform for selling and leasing used cars. Customers can acquire third-party vehicles as long as financing is provided by CaixaBank.

The partnership between CaixaBank and Arval started in 2010, with CaixaBank's vehicle leasing business CaixaRenting being integrated into Arval. The contract renewal and extension of the partnership were signed by José Ignacio Goirigolzarri, President of CaixaBank, and Xavier Brun, CEO of Arval España.

Jordi Nicolau, Director of Payments & Consumer at CaixaBank, and Alain van Groenendael, CEO of Arval, signed the renewal of the agreement. Mr. van Groenendael added that the collaboration serves as a global benchmark for delivering innovative, user-centric solutions. Mr. Nicolau stated that the partnership aims to offer a wide range of accessible and sustainable mobility solutions to customers.

The CaixaBank-Arval alliance is committed to developing innovative financial products and vehicle leasing solutions. The platform for selling and leasing used cars is just one example of this commitment. The alliance offers a broad range of leasing products and services, including flexible leasing and used vehicle leasing.

The aim of the CaixaBank-Arval alliance is to accelerate the introduction of sustainable mobility while offering excellent customer service. The renewed partnership between CaixaBank and Arval is a significant step towards achieving this goal.
