Canines in Motion: Migratory Patterns of Dogs Near the Saxony Desert on August 31, 25th Century
Join Anja Netscho, a certified dog trainer, for a series of scenic dog hikes in the beautiful Rhön region. The thematic focus of the upcoming hike on August 31 is "recall," providing an excellent opportunity for both dogs and their human companions to learn and grow together.
The hike is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. at the Moorwiesen parking lot near Wüstensachsen. The hike itself lasts approximately 2 to 2.5 hours and covers a distance of about 5.5 kilometers.
For those participating with their furry friends, the cost is 20 euros per dog-human team. If you're a dog lover without a canine companion, don't worry—you can still join in the fun for 10 euros.
The hikes offer more than just a walk in the park. They include short training sessions for dogs and owners, ensuring that both parties benefit from the experience. During the hike, you'll pass by some of the Rhön's most stunning landscapes, including the Ottilienstein, the Ulster spring, and the Black Forest near Wüstensachsen.
If the August 31 hike doesn't fit your schedule, fear not! Another hike with a thematic focus on "recall" is scheduled for September 27, 2025. For those interested in learning stay commands, mark your calendars for September 14, 2025.
