Canon's CEO, Rainer Führes, is stepping down from his position
Canon Announces New Leadership for Canon Germany
Markus Naegeli, a long-standing member of Canon, has been appointed as the new CEO of Canon Germany, effective August 30, 2025. Naegeli, who has been with Canon for over two decades, has held various international leadership positions within the company.
Naegeli has been leading Canon Switzerland since late 2018 and previously held the role from 2007 to mid-2015. He will now report directly to Shinichi "Sam" Yoshida, President and CEO of Canon Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA).
Rainer Führes, who has been the CEO of Canon Germany for 11 years, is stepping down after over 26 years with the company. Führes played a significant role in shaping Canon Germany's current market position.
Naegeli has expressed eagerness to assume the responsibility for Canon Germany in addition to his role in Switzerland. He has announced plans to further strengthen Canon Germany's proximity to customers and drive digital transformation.
Canon Germany is considered a key market for Canon in Europe. The incoming CEO emphasized the company's openness to new partnerships, as evidenced by the Partner Convention held in Krefeld and Duesseldorf.
Naegeli will take over the reins from Führes, who has been instrumental in the growth of Canon Germany. The new Pixma MFPs, recently introduced by Canon, are expected to play a significant role in this digital transformation.
Naegeli's designation as the CEO of both Canon Germany and Canon Switzerland underscores Canon's commitment to strategic leadership and continuity. As the company moves forward, Naegeli's extensive experience and passion for the industry are expected to guide Canon Germany towards new heights of success.
