Capitol South's Co-Founder Marty Irby Recognized as Top Lobbyist for the Year 2024 by The Hill
Marty Irby, a native of Mobile, Alabama, and the president of Capitol South, LLC, has once again been honoured with a prestigious title. This year, Irby was named one of The Hill's Top Lobbyists for 2024.
Capitol South, LLC, based in Washington, D.C., specializes in public affairs and advocacy, with areas of expertise spanning agriculture, environmental policy, energy and commerce, appropriations, natural resources, and national security.
Throughout his career, Irby has demonstrated a commitment to principled and effective lobbying. His efforts have led to policy wins in various areas, including national security, Farm Bill improvements, and oversight of USDA programs.
Irby's lobbying has also been instrumental in advancing reforms within the USDA's checkoff programs and ensuring enforcement of the Horse Protection Act. In 2024, he played a key role in these initiatives.
One of Irby's notable achievements was his work with the Alabama Contract Poultry Growers Association, where he fought against corruption in Washington, D.C., and the USDA's scandal-ridden Commodity Checkoff Programs. His efforts were commended by Jonathan Buttram, President at the Alabama Contract Poultry Growers Association.
Irby's dedication to various causes has also earned him recognition from a wide range of organizations. He has been a leading advocate for Moms for America, United Sovereign Americans, Mitchell's Place, the Environmental Working Group (EWG), and leaders in the American Saddlebred Horse industry, among others.
Margaret Iuculano, Chairman of the Kitchen Table Cabinet at Moms for America, appreciated the Capitol South team's efforts in planning, fundraising for, and executing a successful fly-in with more than 80 meetings on Capitol Hill.
Harry Haury, Chairman of the Board at United Sovereign Americans, praised Irby's dedication to election integrity and preserving individual liberties.
Irby's career has also earned him recognition from President-elect Donald J. Trump in 2019 and a prestigious honor from the late Queen Elizabeth II in 2020 for his advocacy work.
Irby's policy leadership has received national media attention from outlets like Fox News, The Daily Caller, USA Today, PEOPLE Magazine, NBC News, and The Hill.
Irby's elevation to 'Hired Gun' status indicates his significant influence among Washington, D.C.'s power players. This is Irby's fifth appearance on the prestigious list.
In addition to his lobbying work, Irby has also been instrumental in helping organizations like Moms for America develop key strategies and a top-notch legislative platform to advocate for their priorities in the 118th Congress.
However, Irby's effective lobbying against industrial agriculture interests with deep ties to China and the Chinese Communist Party has not gone unnoticed. These interests have launched slanderous personal attacks against Irby due to his successful efforts.
Despite these challenges, Irby's commitment to advancing solutions in autism awareness, election integrity, and national defense legislation underscores his breadth as a lobbyist driven by principle and results.
