Car accident caused by intoxicated driver leaves two individuals injured.
In a shocking incident on Saturday afternoon, a three-vehicle collision occurred on the federal road B294, resulting in minor injuries for two individuals and causing property damage estimated at around 15,000 euros.
The collision involved a BMW, an Opel, and another Opel. According to the investigation, the driver of the BMW, who was 24 years old, was found to be heavily intoxicated. The driver of the Opel behind the BMW, a 44-year-old individual, was also under the influence, with a blood alcohol content of approximately 1.4 per mille.
Officers at the scene conducted an alcohol breath test and ordered a blood sample to be taken from the 44-year-old driver. The driver's license of both the 24-year-old BMW driver and the 44-year-old driver were confiscated.
The collision was a rear-end collision that resulted in minor injuries to the 24-year-old BMW driver and the 63-year-old Opel passenger. Emergency services swiftly responded to the scene, with two ambulances dispatched to provide immediate medical attention. The injured individuals were then taken to the hospital for further treatment.
The Pforzheim fire department also sent a vehicle to the scene to assist with any potential fires or extraction needs. However, fortunately, no fires were reported, and no one was trapped in the vehicles.
