Car accident in Taunus results in two fatalities. Porsche splits apart.
In the tranquil Feldberg area, a tragic incident unfolded on Saturday, 6th September, at 19:54. A white Porsche, travelling at high speed, veered off the L3276 road and collided with two trees near Schmitten-Oberreifenberg.
The crash was reported by the Hochtaunus Police Directorate, and a crash investigator was promptly called in. The accident resulted in the Porsche being torn in two, leaving both occupants trapped in the wreckage.
The driver of the vehicle was a 29-year-old man from Frankfurt am Main, who was later taken to the hospital with severe injuries. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries before reaching the hospital. His name, as per the latest search results, has not been publicly disclosed.
The passenger in the Porsche was a 30-year-old man. Tragically, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The accident caused a full closure of the L3276 for several hours as investigations were carried out. Frankfurt am Main's Public Prosecutor's Office also ordered the vehicle to be seized.
Witnesses of the accident are asked to contact the Usingen Police Station to provide any information that may aid the ongoing investigation.
